Following assessment of the sporting landscape and consultation with stakeholders, the international body that regulates global rugby designed a three-division model, expanding the series from 10 to 13 events in 2026. Division 1 of the SVNS Series will reduce the number of fixed teams from twelve to eight per gender, competing in a series of six tournaments with all events adopting a two-day format.
The top category in the SVNS will be made up of eight teams which will compete in six tournaments from November to March. Then, three final stages called SVNS World Championship will be played, to which the four best teams in SVNS 2 will be added to reach the number of 12 teams that will determine the final positions for the 2026/2027 season.
The Pumas 7’s are one of the teams that will perform in this version of the SVNS 2025/2026, and the other teams will be: Australia, Fiji, France, Great Britain, New Zealand, South Africa and Spain.
Regarding the activity of Las Yaguaretés in 2026, there are also new developments. In January, the women’s team will compete in SVNS 3, in which they will fight for a place in SVNS 2, which will be played in February and March in two stages. There, she will look for one of the four tickets to the aforementioned three World Championship final stages that await in the women’s branch: Australia, Canada, United States, Fiji, France, Great Britain, Japan and New Zealand.

The close of the season will determine the world champion: Three SVNS World Championship Series events featuring the top twelve men’s and women’s teams (eight from Division 1, four from Division 2).
