United Cup 2025 Guide

Created in 2022, the United Cup it’s a tournament ATP/WTA 500 of mixed teams held in Australia and spread over ten days, in which players from 18 teams represent their country in a battle to take home the trophy.

The tournament, which offers all the excitement live from Perth and Sydney, is an outdoor hard-court event that includes singles and doubles group stage matches in which the pride of the country is at stake.

The first week of competition is the group stage, where they compete in a round-robin format to advance to the quarterfinals.

Afterwards, all eyes are on Sydney, where the top players and advancing doubles teams will compete in the semi-finals and final.

In addition to competing for United Cup trophy for your country is the opportunity to earn a maximum of 500 ranking points.

SCHEDULE

The third edition of the United Cup will be held from Friday, December 27, 2024 to the Sunday, January 5, 2025.

The group stage matches in Perth (RAC Arena) will take place from Friday 27 December to Tuesday 31 December 2024. The quarter-finals in Perth will take place on Wednesday 1 January 2025. The group stage matches group stage in Sydney (Ken Rosewall Arena) will be played from Saturday, December 28, 2024 to Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The quarterfinals in Sydney will be held on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 January 2025. Sydney will host two semi-finals on Saturday 4 January 2025, followed by the United Cup final on Sunday 5 January 2025. Teams traveling from Perth to Sydney will have a day of travel and rest before their semi-final match.

In total, 18 countries qualified for the United Cup.

Group E – Perth

China; Germany; Brazil

Group F – Sydney

The official draw determined where the top 16 countries will play. The second qualifying date, November 19, will determine the two finalist teams. Each city will host nine teams. The group stage matches will be divided into three groups of three countries, which will compete against each other. Each session will consist of three matches: a men’s singles match, a women’s singles match and a mixed doubles match. The number one player on the team will participate in both individual matches. Individual matches will be played in the best of three sets with a tie-break. Mixed doubles matches will be played in the best of two sets with a tie-break, with a decisive tie-break (10 points) one set difference.

FINALS

The group winners in each city advance to the quarterfinals, and a quarterfinal berth in each city is awarded to that city’s best second place finisher. The winners will advance to the semi-finals and final to be played in Sydney. All matches in the final will be played in the same format as the group stage matches: one men’s singles match, one women’s singles match and one mixed doubles match per final.
