This is how the ATP ranking looked after Djokovic's defeat in Brisbane

Novak Djokovic (7th in the world ranking) was surprised by Reilly Opelka (293°) in the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 in Brisbanein what was the first confrontation between the two: the American defeated him 7-6 (6) and 6-3 and managed to get into the semifinals.

Given this failure by Opelka, in the prelude to the Australian Open 2025 -first Grand Slam of the year-, doubts arise about how the ranking will be. Below are all the details.

With the United Cup, Brisbane and Hong Kong taking place, it must be said that there will be no changes in the Top 10. However, Djokovic will have to defend the Australian semis held in 2024, so as not to lose the 1,300 points he obtained. If he does not do so, he will fall to at least 16th place in the world ranking.

On the other side, Opelka has already climbed virtually 86 positions, finishing 207th. If they advance to the final, it will be 170th and if they become champion, 141st. For now, he will face Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (31st).

The Top 10: Jannik Sinner (1st), Alexander Zverev (2nd), Carlos Alcaraz (3rd), Taylor Fritz (4th), Daniil Medvedev (5th), Casper Ruud (6th), Novak Djokovic (7th), Alex De Minaur (8th), Andrey Rublev (9th) and Grigor Dimitrov (10th).
