Felix Gall and Gregor Mühlberger sign for Lidl-Trek

Austrian cyclists Felix Gall and Gregor Mühlberger, who this season were racing for the Decathlon CMA CGM team, have committed to the Lidl-Trek team starting next season, as the latter announced on Tuesday.

“Both riders, who are not only teammates but also very good friends, will bring a great deal of experience to the team and are especially strong in the mountains and in grand tours, which fits well with their Austrian origins,” Lidl-Trek highlights in a statement.

Felix Gall, second in the Giro and third in the Vuelta this year, has signed for three seasons, until the end of 2029. The 28-year-old cyclist did not compete in the Tour de France this year, but had finished in fifth position in 2025. He made himself known by finishing eighth in 2023, also achieving a stage victory, but in the Decathlon CMA CGM he was overshadowed by the rise of the young Frenchman Paul Seixas. For its part, Gregor Mühlberger32 years old and winner of the Tour of Austria at the beginning of July, has signed a contract for two seasons, until the end of 2028.

“Felix (Gall) has really established himself in his role as a leader in the grand tours and it is extremely interesting to see how he progresses each season. Since his appearance in the Tour de France in 2023, he has not stopped improving his consistency, their confidence and their ability to perform at the highest level throughout those three very demanding weeks,” said Andy Schleck, 2010 Tour winner and head of Lidl-Trek.

“In 2026, Felix showed that he belongs among the elite, establishing himself as a strong candidate for the podium in the grand tours. But we are convinced that he still has much more to offer,” Schleck added.

The team Lidl-Trek had already announced at the end of August the arrival of the French climber Jordan Jegat for next season, from TotalEnergies. In the last Tour de France, Andy Schleck’s ambitious squad won the team classification. He managed to place Mattias Skjelmose in sixth position and Juan Ayuso in seventh. With Quinn Simmons (18th), Carlos Verona (23rd) and Derek Gee (25th) also in contention, the Lidl-Trek placed five riders in the top 25 of the general classification, while Mads Pedersen took victory in the fourth stage.
