One million dollars for Brunson’s jersey in his debut in the NBA Finals

The shirt that the point guard wore Jalen Brunson in the first game of the 2026 NBA Finals was sold for just over a million dollars at an auction organized by Sotheby’s, becoming the most valuable collector’s item in the history of the New York Knicks.

The garment, worn by Brunson in the Knicks’ 105-95 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in the first game of the series, was awarded last night after a bid of 70 offers.

In that game, Brunson scored 30 pointsincluding 14 in the fourth quarter, to lead the Knicks to victory, who later won their first NBA championship since 1973, with the point guard chosen as Finals MVP.

The sale also set a new record for a jersey sold through NBA Auctions, surpassing the $1 million previously paid for the league’s debut jersey. Cooper Flagg.

In total, the 15 Knicks jerseys for the first game of the Finals raised 1.87 million dollars.

After Brunson’s, the most sought after were those of Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunobysold for $256,000 each, while that of Josh Hart It reached $89,600.
