Abandoning the yellow jersey in the Tourmalet due to “concussion and fractured ribs”
Torstein Traeenwho wore the yellow jersey for two days, was forced to leave the Tour de France after suffering a fall on Thursday in the descent of the Tourmaletthe judge of a 6th stage in which the Norwegian left the finish line 29’55” behind the winner and new leader, the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar.

The 30-year-old Norwegian, symbol of the young Scandinavian team of which he was part at the beginning of his career, suffered a fall on the Tourmalet descent after miscalculating his route and being caught in the slipstream of one of his teammates.
Traeen responded well to the concussion protocol applied to him on the road and was able to finish the stage leading the pack until Gavarniewhere he crossed the finish line almost 30 minutes after Tadej Pogacar.
He had also been involved in a crash on Wednesday, in the final sprint near Paul. Full stop now for him in the Tour.
