From Italy they point to improvements to the Aston Martin for the Hungarian GP
According to reports from Italy, the evolution of the AMR26 would arrive at the Hungarian GP and the English team hopes to be able to start scoring points regularly thanks to these improvements.
The entire car, except the front suspension, would receive changes and a even more aggressive rear suspensionwhich may even give a preview of next season’s concepts. On the engine side, Honda could experiment by bringing up to two of the improvements allowed by the ADUO system at the same time.
Let us remember that the Honda engine was classified as the worst, with a disadvantage of between 6% and 8% compared to Red Bull, so it will be the one that receives the most concessions.
It is clear that neither aerodynamics nor the engine have worked for Aston Martin this year. In two circuits with highly different characteristics, such as Monaco and the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, they have been last in classification.
The British team hopes that the arrival of the improvements will mark a before and after, a complete ‘reset’ to the season. Red Bull Ring, Silverstone and Spa, the three races before the Hungarian GP, would remain a mere commitment.
In this way, Aston Martin and Fernando Alonso could face a second half of the season where, at least, they are regularly hovering around the points positions. Not competing with the Cadillacs of Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas because they are not last.
