Infantino, in the Iran locker room: “This is part of the history of this World Cup”
The president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, assured that he feels “very happy” when looking at the selection of Iran in the 2026 World Cup and highlighted that his first match against New Zealand (2-2) is part “from history” of this edition.
Infantino, present in the stands of the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles (United States) to watch the match between both teams, showed his emotion after the tie, as he showed in a video posted on the social network Instagram.

In the same video, the FIFA president was shown in the Asian team’s locker room, whom he congratulated after their performance in their debut in Group G, in which they are also Belgium and Egypt.
