WNBA: Lynx agree to return of Courtney Williams for a maximum of two years

Two-time WNBA All-Star Courtney Williams returns to Minnesota Lynx on two-year max contractas confirmed to AM850 this Sunday by his agent, Marcus Crenshaw, from The FAM Sports Agency.
Considered one of the most efficient mid-range shooters in the league, Williams averaged 13.6 points, 6.2 assists and 4.9 rebounds with the Lynx last season.
The 1.73 meter (5’8”) point guard has been a fundamental piece in the recent success of the Lynx. Williams helped Minnesota to arrive at WNBA Finals in 2024 and played a key role in the team securing the top seed in last year’s playoffs. She is recognized for being part of the dynamic duo “StudBudz” alongside Natisha Hiedeman, after their live broadcasts went viral last season.
After being selected eighth overall in the 2016 draft – out of South Florida – by the Phoenix Mercury, Williams He went on to play for the Connecticut Sun and the Chicago Sky. After a breakout season with Chicago in 2023, he initially signed a two-year deal with Minnesota in 2024.
The return of Williams It constitutes the first known movement made by the Lynx herein free agency. To date, the team has lost a large number of players from its 2025 roster, including Bridget Carleton (via expansion draft), Alanna Smith, Hiedeman and Jessica Shepard.
