Once again a new series between Argentina and Brazil took place in the Billie Jean King Cup. On this occasion, as has been happening since 2017, the victory went to the Verdeamarela, which won in a tight 2-1. Below, we tell you all the details of what happened.

First of all, Luisina Giovannini (201st in the world ranking) went out to the court to open the key against the young Brazilian hope, 16 years old, Nauhany Vitoria Leme Da Silva (658°). On this occasion, it was the latter who gave the big blow, winning 7-6 and 6-4 and putting her country ahead.

There, Riera returned to action, along with Nicole Fossa Huergo. Despite having started at the top, winning the first set 6-4, Brazil came back: led by Da Silva and Victoria Barros, who won the second by 7-5 and later the supetiebreak by 10-5.

In this way, Paola Suárez’s Argentina will be forced to beat Chile this Friday, April 10, to stay alive in the competition.
