URBA Promotion: the preview of date 5 of First A, B, C and Second and 2nd day of Third and Development

URBAN First A

Hurling vs. Saint Cyrano

HOW THEY GET THERE: Ax and chalk match. This is how the clash between Green and the Villa Celina club could be defined in Hurlingham. The two arrive with the same record: three wins and one loss, adding 15 points, and together they escort the only leader of the tournament, the Gymnastics and Fencing Club.

Hurling comes from beating Deportiva Francesa with notable production and seven tries to make it 48 to 29 with which Del Viso closed the afternoon. “La Depo” decorated the result with two tries to reduce the score at the end of the afternoon.

San Cirano has just lost surprisingly on its court against Lomas Athletic, by 16 to 12. Both teams are the ones that scored the most points in the tournament along with Curupaytí, so beyond what they generated from the formations, their strengths are also in open play. El Verde wants the continuity of the tries they made against Deportiva Francesa. San Cirano needs to forget what was left of last Saturday’s setback, against Lomas, in Villa Celina. THE BACKGROUND: Since the green managed to reach First “A” the duels with San Cirano were very even. Last year each team won their game at home, however in 2024, the successes were as visitors. Hurling won in its stronghold 29 to 27 in 2025 and lost 41 to 24 the previous tournament. San Cirano won at Villa Celina, 14 to 13 last year and lost 32 to 22 in 2024.

Quilmes University Circle vs. Mariano Moreno

HOW THEY GET THERE: After winning the first three dates, CUQ found the end of its undefeated series. On their visit to Ingeniero Maschwitz they lost 29 to 25 against Manuel Belgrano. With the score 25 to 24 in their favor, the try

Marista, seven minutes from the end, sealed the story for the blaugranas and ended with the celestial team undefeated.

Mariano Moreno won his third game, with a very good harvest of points. Against a far from easy opponent, they reached 50 points, beating the Argentine Rugby Club by 50 to 30. After the fourth round, both were left as escorts for Liceo Naval and Banco Nación, the only clubs that managed to win in all four presentations.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?: Great game is expected in Quilmes between two contenders to qualify for the final stages. With very solid packs and a comprehensive proposal, CUQ and Mariano Moreno started with good feelings. They only lost once, they meet in Quilmes, in a clash without candidates, and with the challenge of not being far from the top.

THE BACKGROUND: After a series of 13 games without being able to beat Mariano Moreno, Círculo Universitario de Quilmes reversed the negative series by beating the red and white in the last three games. In 2024, they ended that losing streak with a resounding 42 to 10, in Quilmes. Last year, to continue the trend, it won in both rounds, by 30 to 16 and 29 to 24.

SITAS vs. Saint Charles

HOW THEY GET THERE: He is the only leader and undefeated, the winner of the four dates played in the tournament, that is San Carlos who travels to El Palomar with the intention of defending the lead and continuing with the planned objective of promotion.

El Jailer has just beaten San Miguel, 56 to 14, in another forceful effort in which he maintained his habit of scoring many points this year.

SITAS stumbled over its first stone after winning three convincing victories. On their visit to DAOM they fell categorically, 31 to 13, to lose for the first time this season.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?: In a clash of candidates SITAS tests the Jailer, the best team in the division so far. San Carlos arrives with a great average of goals, since it added 180 in just four games. The El Palomar team needs revenge, they did not expect the fall they suffered in Bajo Flores, where Daom clearly defeated them.

THE BACKGROUND: They are very even in history from 2003 to date, a period in which San Carlos won eleven times and SITAS ten. At El Palomar the Italians won in 2025, by 36 to 21, the Jailer has not won as a visitor since the 2017 season, when they did it narrowly by 11 to 10.

HOW THEY GET THERE: There are two leaders in the Second Division, Old Georgian and Atlético Chascomús, who share the lead, both with 18 points. San Marcos is one step behind, it is the third undefeated team in the category, although it lost ground by tying against Mercedes, by 22 points last Saturday. The Quilmeños won again, they obtained their fourth victory on their visit to San Pedro, which they beat 24 to 13.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?: After several years without good starts, the start of the Old Georgian season is something to be excited about. Four wins in a row and a defense that suffocates, with only one try received in four matches. Wait for San Marcos with the intention of continuing adding and thinking about the ultimate goal: promotion.

The Monte Grande team also did not lose this year, but could not against Mercedes, a rival that should never be underestimated. Visit the Dragon with the aim of staying on and ruining the host’s afternoon.

URBAN THIRD DIVISION

Ituzaingó Gymnastics and Fencing vs. The Cedars

HOW THEY GET THERE: The Third Division tournament began with a striking victory, that of Almafuerte over the newly promoted, Berisso. GEI and Los Cedros, two of the candidates in this division had a different debut. Gimnasia lost in Zárate, by a surprising 31 to 13 against El Ombú, the club that returned to the category after relegation in 2025.

Los Cedros, on the other hand, started straight, the 49-17 win over Beromama was confirmed in the second half, after finishing the quarter, 23-10, up.

WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR: Last year the two clubs were in the playoffs, where GEI was eliminated against Arsenal Náutico de Zárate and Los Cedros against Vicente López. This season he is a candidate to occupy the top positions, however, the premiere of GEI was not the best. Open match for the second week of the tournament.

THE BACKGROUND: Since 2003, 18 matches have been recorded, of which Los Cedros won ten and GEI won seven. Furthermore, they tied in 2006, by 21 goals per side. Last year they won one match each, GEI did it by the slightest difference 13 to 12 and Los Cedros by a tight 15 to 12.

URBAN DEVELOPMENT

Defenders of Glew vs. Ezeiza

HOW THEY GET THERE: Last year they played a decisive match for the resolution of the tournament. The victory of Defensores de Glew left Ezeiza without a title, who was left at the door of the celebration because the title went to Berisso.

At the start, Glew’s team were the most effective in the category, they beat Sociedad Hebraica 82 to 0. They were the only team on the initial date of the Development tournament that did not receive so many.

Ezeiza, having a great campaign in the 2025 season, began with a victory over Marcos Paz, 19-7, after a partial score that was also favorable and close from 7 to 0. A short result, according to the latest records, but a result that finally reflects the beginning of a new season.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?: They were protagonists last year and this tournament got off to a good start. Glew and Ezeiza want to take a step in their history, to be able to be promoted for the first time.

THE BACKGROUND: Since Ezeiza participated in the URBA tournaments, in 2013, Defensores de Glew and Ezeiza played 12 games: they won five times each and tied the remaining two. In 2025, Blanco y Negro took the title from him on the last date, when they beat him 41 to 33, in the initial round of the same tournament they tied on 21 points. The tricolor won as a visitor for the last time in the 2018 season, when they defeated them 11 to 7.
