The defeat of Carlos Alcaraz in the second round of Paris Masters 1000 I leave a unprecedented panorama in the French tournament. The thing is that the top of the main draw, which had the world number one as the main candidate for the title, will no longer have his presence. In that context, there could be an unprecedented finalist in the French competition.

The only Top 10 left in play in this part of the table are: Félix Auger-Aliassime, Casper Ruud, Taylor Fritz, Karen Khachanov and Alex de Minaur. Between all of them, they only have three Masters 1000 titles and only two occurred in the last five years.

We are talking about the cases of the American, the Norwegian and the Russian. The first was champion in Indian Wells 2022 while the second did the same in Madrid 2025. However, the third knew how to win in 2018, curiously in Paris when the tournament was played in Bercy.

The rest of the tennis players who are still in play within this sector of the table are the wildcard Arthur Rinderknech, Valentin Vacherot, the player coming from the qualy Alexander Vukic and the classifieds Alexandre Muller, Daniel Altmaier, Corentin Moutet, Joao Fonseca and Gabriel Diallo.

All of these tennis players mentioned will play in the second round of the Paris Masters 1000since the only one qualified for the third phase is, for the moment, Cameron Norrie. The British knew how to win an event in this category when he won in Indian Wells 2021 against Nikoloz Basilashvili.

It should be noted that just two and a half weeks ago, the Monegasque Vacherot (Out of the top 200 at that time) gave the surprise of the year by becoming champion in Shanghai against his cousin Arthur Rinderknech (he had never played in a Masters 1000 final). In the semis, they eliminated Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev respectively.

In that tournament, there was also a draw with surprising names. Players like Jiri Lehecka, Nuno Borges, Zizou Bergs, Learner Tien, Jaume Munar and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard appeared in the round of 16.
