“There is a serious risk of an assassination attempt against me”

Pinto was sentenced in Portugal in 2023 to four years in suspended prison for several crimes related to illegal access to emails and computer systems, as well as attempted extortion.
In France he also received a six-month suspended prison sentence in 2023 for illegally accessing PSG emails. Later, in 2026, he was acquitted in another trial related to Football Leaks in which he faced 241 crimes.
