World Cup 2026: the qualifiers

The American team is one of the host countries so it has already secured its place in the World Cup. It will be his 12th participation and he will seek to surpass what was done in 1994, when he was local and reached the round of 16


Mexico

Japan

New Zealand

The New Zealanders are the second team to qualify for the World Cup and are the first to do so directly from the OFC Qualifiers after beat New Caledonia in the final. It will be his third participation.


With two days left in the Asian Qualifiers, Iran tied against Uzbekistan and secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup. This will be their seventh participation and the fourth in a row.


Argentina

The Australian team defeated Saudi Arabia in a “final” for direct qualification and achieved passage to its seventh World Cup, the sixth in a row.


Brazil

Carletto Ancelotti’s team defeated Paraguay and secured their qualification two dates in advance, despite having an irregular campaign in the qualifiers. It remains the only team to have played in all the World Cups in history.


The team led by Sebastián Beccacece secured its ticket to the World Cup with a goalless draw against Peru, keeping a clean sheet again.


La Celeste beat Peru in the Centennial and sealed their ticket to the World Cup, a date before the closing of the Qualifiers.


The Tricolor celebrated its classification in Barranquilla with a comfortable 3-0 victory against Bolivia.


La Albirroja drew goalless against Ecuador and celebrated their ticket at home. His last World Cup was in South Africa 2010.


The Moroccan team beat Niger 5-0 and became the first African qualifier for the 2026 event. It will be their seventh performance in a World Cup. It comes from achieving the best campaign in the history of the continent, when in Qatar 2022 it reached the semifinals.


Tunisia

Tunisia beat Equatorial Guinea 1-0, secured first place in Group H of the African Qualifiers and will play in the 2026 World Cup. It will be its 7th. participation in its history and the third in a row.


Uzbeksitan

Mohamed Salah’s team will play in its fourth World Cup in history and returns after being absent in Qatar 2022. They beat Djibouti 2-0 and secured first place in Group A of the African Qualifiers with 7 wins and 2 draws.


Algeria

The North African team qualified one date before the end by beating Somalia and will play in its fifth World Cup. They achieved 7 wins out of 9 and won their group over Uganda and Mozambique.


Ghana

Ghana beat Comoros 1-0 on matchday 10 of the African Qualifiers, securing first place in Group I and securing its place in the 2026 World Cup. It will be the Black Stars’ 5th participation in the biggest event.
