Strong rise of Badosa and Bucsa in the world ranking

Cristina Bucsa has risen nine positions in the WTA rankings after being a semi-finalist at the Guadalajara Open (Mexico) and has placed itself in 35th position with 1,349 points.

For its part, the American Iva Jovic has placed thirteenth place of the classification after winning in that Mexican city.

Iva Jovic was number 16 in the WTA rankings and second favorite in Mexico, where she became champion for the second consecutive time, by beating her compatriot Peyton Stearns in the final this Saturday, with sets of 6-4 and 6-2.

Jovic adds 2,841 points per the 9,901 of the Kazakh Elena Rybakina and the 7,875 of the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenkanumber one until the US Open.

Paula Badosa has gained 13 positions and is already close to entering the top fifty. The Catalan is 57th with 1,052 points, while Kaitlin Quevedo, who is playing in the final of the Sao Paulo tournament this Monday, and Jessica Bouzas are 90th (provisional) and 93rd, respectively, with 833 and 809 points.
