Roglic is already negotiating his future away from Red Bull-Bora

Primoz Roglic (36 years old) continues to recover from the accident he suffered at the end of July and which calls into question his participation in the Vuelta a España, which will begin on August 22. The Slovenian, four-time winner of the Spanish round, is confident that he can be at the starting line of his big goal of the year.

His season, however, is far from meeting expectations. Roglic He has only managed to win the national time trial championship in Slovenia and has been losing prominence since his arrival at Red Bull-Bora in 2024. In his first year in the German squad he won the Critérium du Dauphiné and his fourth Tour of Spain. Last year he won the Volta a Catalunya, while in 2026 he has only been on the podium in Milano-Torino, where he was third.

The future of Roglic also aims away from Red Bull-Bora. His contract with the German team expires at the end of the season and, according to Het Laatste Nieuws, the Slovenian would have started talks with the Lotto-Intermarché. Both parties have shown interest, although for now there is no agreement.

If the signing is confirmed, Roglic would continue in the WorldTour and you would have the freedom to design your calendar. The Belgian team, for its part, would take a leap in quality with the incorporation of a rider who still aspires to fight for big wins and who could contribute his experience to the development of young talents like Jarno Widar.
