Official: United pay Youri Tielemans’ clause

He Manchester United takes over the services of the Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans (29 years) after paying the termination clause of 41 million euros to Aston Villa. Sign a long five-year contract, until June 2031.

Last season, he recorded seven assists for the Aston Villa and helped his club win the Europa Leaguescoring the first goal in the final against Freiburg. Tielemansis an international with Belgium and has just returned from the World Cup, where he captained his team to the quarterfinals of the competition.

“It’s hard to describe how proud I am to join Manchester United. Signing for such a special club is an incredible feeling; “It is the culmination of years of dedication since I fell in love with football,” commented the player after closing his signing.

He Aston Villa has also thanked Tielemans his work for the club and wishes him luck for the future: “A popular and highly respected member of the dressing room, everyone at Aston Villa would like to thank Youri for his service to the club and wish him the best in his future career.”

Youri Tielemans becomes the third signing of the Manchester United who directs Michael Carrick for the next season. He joins the additions of Andrey Santos and Karl Darlow.
