Official: La Vuelta 2027 will leave Galicia

In this way, Galicia will once again be the protagonist of the race, which will begin its journey in Galician territory for the ninth time, after hosting the start of the race for the first time in 1965 and for the last time in 2016. “It will be an online stage inspired by the Camino de Santiago. There will be a minimum of four stages and the idea is to have a presence in the four Galician provinces,” explained the general director of the race, Javier Guillén.
With this departure in 2027, the Vuelta breaks the trend of leaving from abroad in recent years, after starting in 2024 from Lisbonin 2025 Turin and this year of Monaco. The last time he left Spanish soil was in Barcelona 2023with a team time trial.
