Carlos Alcaraz’s reaction upon learning of the union of Juan Carlos Ferrero and Ben Shelton

In the interval between the leak of the rumor of the union of Juan Carlos Ferrero and Ben Shelton and the confirmation of the official news by both, Carlos Alcaraz won the ATP 500 in Vienna this Sunday afternoon. After him came a press conference in which the Murcian still did not know first-hand what was confirmed minutes later.

Alcaraz has been asked about this union between Ferrero and Shelton and has made it clear that we had to wait for the announcement to be official, but he has also expressed his opinion on the matter. Ferrero’s former pupil has expressed his strong agreement with the bet made by the American.

“Yes it’s true, I think he’s going to be a great signing for Ben Shelton’s team. I think ‘Juanki’ is going to do a great job and will help him a lot to raise his level even more, so I’m going to have to worry about him“, said Alcaraz.

Ferrero joins the team of the current US Open runner-up, in what will be his first job since his union with Alcaraz broke up at the end of 2025. He will begin his journey with Shelton for the 2027 season.
