This is the largest sum of money earned collectively by Dominican players in the history of the Major Leagues.

2024 was a year in which Dominican Republic players were successful on a general level, which has been reflected in some substantial contracts in the current free agency, as well as the growth in interest in acquiring certain talents from the Dominican country to form to the teams for 2025. We also saw it during the last trade deadline, where 24 Dominicans were moved teams. However, where this interest has been most noticeable is in the salary aspect.

In total, 161 Dominicans saw action in Major Leagues during the 2024 season, the second largest amount in the last 10 years, only surpassed by the 164 who played in 2023. Together, this group of players earned the sum of 539,782,975 dollars, jointly, this being the largest amount of money that the group of foreigners in MLB has earned from 1956 to date. This information was provided by Nathanael Pérez Neró of the Diario Libre newspaper, who year after year publishes a work focused on the economic gains of Dominican baseball players in MLB.

The previous mark had been set in 2017, when 138 Dominicans accumulated 466,470,809 dollars, while in the 2023 season, the 164 Dominicans who saw action accumulated salaries of 446,068,467 dollars.

According to Pérez Neró, of the 161 Dominicans who played in 2024, 65 of them exceeded the sum of one million dollars. Of those 65, 34 exceeded the average salary of MLB for last season, which was about 4.8 million dollars. Additionally, the 539.72 million mark the first time in history that Dominicans, together, exceeded 500 million in salaries paid.
