Mireia Benito signs for Movistar for the next three seasons
Mireia Benitountil now in the ranks of the AG Insurance – Soudal team, will be part of the squad of the Spanish team Movistar Team from next season until the end of 2029, as reported by the squad in a statement.
The Spanish cyclist, who turns 30 in December, is a quadruple Spanish time trial champion and in 2026 she was crowned both in the fight against the clock and online. In addition, she is part of the elite Spanish women’s team that will compete in the World Cups in Canada, also in both disciplines.
After four seasons at AG Insurance, the Catalan has accumulated two participations in each of the three grand tours (Giro, Tour, Vuelta). 2026 has been his best year in terms of results, since to the national double he adds a third place in the Cadel Evans Road Race and a fourth place overall in the Vuelta a Burgos.
“If you had told me a few years ago that I would end up wearing the colors of Movistar, I probably would have thought it was unimaginable. I have always seen it as an ambitious team, with a project that is committed to the development of the youngest players without forgetting that experience plays a key role,” Benito declared to his new team starting in 2027.
“I join with great desire to contribute everything I already know how to do.to work tirelessly on everything that I still don’t know how to do and, above all, to blend in with the good atmosphere that already exists in the team. “I want to continue challenging myself, pursuing new goals and learning to make defeats as important a part of who I am as victories are,” he added.
