Messi’s Inter Miami crisis continues

The bad streak of results continues for Inter Miami, which has four consecutive MLS games without winning and is increasingly moving away from the top of the table. Messi scored again in the defeat against Toronto (1-2), but it was not enough to scratch anything.

The match was having a certain equality until between the 59th and 62nd minutes two goals came that settled everything. Josh Sargent broke the tie and Derrick Etienne extended the gap.

Toronto had only won one of the nine games played away from home this season. Inter Miami pushed to reopen the match and Messi pulled one back in the 82nd minute by scoring with his left foot in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper after a vertical pass from Rodrigo De Paul. It was not enough for the Florida team to rescue points at home, where their last league victory dates back to July 22, in a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Fire.
