Lampard’s Coventry wins its first game and breathes

After four consecutive defeats, stuck in the hole of the classification, Coventry, recently promoted to the Premier, achieved its first victory of the season after beating Nottingham Forest at the City Ground (0-1) who had not lost in three games.

Frank Lampard’s team had not scored a goal and had not scored a point, surpassed by Arsenal, Hull, Manchester City and Brighton. However, he took advantage of his departure to Nottingham to take off in the season and leave Tottenham and Fulham as the only ones who have not yet won a game.

The clash was decided ten minutes into the second half, when a pass from Carla Rushworth to Jay Dasilva ended with a quick action, an acceleration and a powerful shot that beat Matz Sels.

From that moment on, Lampard’s team focused on protecting their income and surviving to obtain, in their first season in the premier league since the 2000-2001 season, an expected victory.

Nottingham, in fact, scored a goal, from Igor Jesus, in the 87th minute, but it was disallowed due to a previous foul.

The victory leaves Coventry eighteenth, equal on points with Crystal Palace and Bournemouth, who mark the permanence zone. Forest drops to twelfth place.
