The police cannot leave the stadiums and the police are gradually dismantling the teams for different reasons. I think that yesterday it was demonstrated that if it had not been for the police, we would be facing a different tragedy today. I thank you for your committed action,” said the manager.

Furthermore, Jaramillo said that this is not about “finding culprits”, but rather that co-responsibilities must be assumed when it comes to ensuring the performance of the show. “The match was very good, it was very brave and well-played. In the end we have these unfortunate events and we point the finger at each other looking for the culprit and in the end there is not only one person responsible. The first are the maladjusted people who generate this in a stadium of soccer. Football should not be singled out as a generator of violence.“.

In addition to this, Jaramillo explained that the award ceremony could not be held at the stadium due to the recommendations made to him: “The award ceremony was not held because on the outside the situation was very complex and they recommended that I not do it because it would put the Nacional players at risk.. It is unfair that Nacional has not been able to celebrate. “It wasn’t their stadium and it was surely an affront for the fans that they lifted the cup there, but they don’t deserve to do what they did.”
