Historical Dismissal of Managers in the Mexican League

For the first time in 100 years of Mexican Baseball League, 10 managers are fired before half of the season, with a record of nine in May


The Mexican Baseball League this celebrating their 100 years of historyand the Season 2025 will remain marked forever, being the first time in what 10 managers are dismissed before of reach half the campaign and nine be ceased in it May.

Although the record of more fucking managers who started a season has not yet been reached-which is 11-, there had never been a dismissal of 10 strategists before half of the season.

The Dominican José Offerman became the last manager ceased after his June 5 match with the Conspirators of Querétaroto be the tenth and overcome the mark of nine established before the middle of the 2022 season.

Offerman, who was awarded the manager prize of the year last season, was ceased after match 41 of the season, six less than the 47 that marked half of the campaign.

In 2022, the ninth helmsman who was fired after starting the campaign with the Tigers of Quintana Roo was Tony Rodríguez, just in match 45 of the year that marked half of the 90 -game calendar for each team.

Of the nine teams that fired managers at the end of the first half of the 2022 campaign, five repeated in doing so in 2025, Bravos de León, Durango-general and hot-, Saraperos de Saltillo, Tigres and Lions of Yucatan. None of the 19 managers repeated dismissal.

In 2022, the other four teams to say goodbye to their managers were Tecos de Dos Laredos, cotton of Unión Laguna, Aceres de Monclova and Warriors of Oaxaca. The other five in 2025 are Águila de Veracruz, Dorados de Chihuahua, Pirates of Campeche, Rieleros de Aguascalientes and Querétaro.

Three campaigns ago —8 teams in the league-, the first to leave was Mark Weidemaier after 10 games, followed by Álvaro Espinoza with 16 games, Eduardo Arredondo with 19, Óscar Robles with 29, Roberto Vizcarra with 32, Luis Matos with 33, as well as Mickey Callaway and Erick Rodríguez and Rodríguez with 45.

This season –20 teams in the league–, Matías Carrillo He was the first to say goodbye after 15 meetings, followed by Néstor Rojas With 18, Ronnie Paulino with 21, Enrique Reyes With 22, CJ Retherford and José Valentín With 27, Cory Snyder With 29, Ramón Santiago with 33, José Amado with 36 and Offerman with 41.

Of the 10 manager dismissed this year, nine were removed from office in May, as many for a month in the history of the League. Only Offerman was fired in the first week of June, the rest fell after the games of May 4 and 29.

The previous brand of more fired in a month was from 8 in May 2022, when removed after the meetings of day 3 to 29. The ninth was dismissed in the second week of June.

With 40 games ahead in the 2025 season, 10 teams keep their manager at the start of the season and if two are fired, another brand will be established. The manager record that started a season is 11 and was established in 2015, being tied in 2016 and 2023. In 2000 the first year with double digit was recorded upon reaching 10.
