Franco Colapinto, with more confidence in his Alpine before the GP in Italy
The Argentine comes from his best career with the French team in the Netherlands and in Monza, the track on which he debuted in F1, hopes to reconfirm good feelings.
“Monza is a clue where I always did well, I won three times. It’s a good track for me,” said Franco Colapinto in talk with AM850 before the start of the GP activity of Italy, 16th date of exercise 2025 of Formula 1. The layout nestled in the Lombardy region is the place where the Argentine pilot debuted in the highest category and in which he won in his time of Formula Renault (2020) and Formula 3 (2022 and 2023). The knowledge of the drawing and how well he feels was one of the main reasons that led him to choose him to give his A525 to Paul Aron in the first free practice of this Friday so that Alpine complies with the sports regulations.
Colapint arrives in Italy after starring in his best career with the French team in the Netherlands: it was 11th and touched the points. “It was a good weekend in Zandvoort and I am happy for how it was. In the race, the team did a good strategy job. We are very close to the points, I am sure that we will soon get it, ”he told a press conference, clearly lowering his fool to his statements after Zandvoort’s career, in which he complained because, what he understood, had not been a good job between teammate, pointing to Pierre Gasly. Getting used to Alpine was one of the great inconveniences that collapint had in 2025, but, as recognized in Monza, that stage is left behind: “Now I have more confidence in the car and I recovered those sensations that I did not have. The engineers are helping me a lot, but we still have a hard work ahead,” he said in the conference room, next to Kimi Antonelli and Fernando Alonso, who completed the panel.
The expectations for the Italian race are moderate in the French hosts because Monza is the temple of speed and the Renault engine, it is known, it is the one that the least pushes. “The track can be difficult given the many lines, but we have to try to take advantage of opportunities,” said the Argentine.
