For the first time in its history, the AAT has its own fields
The Argentine Tennis Association inaugurated two of its own courts for the first time in its more than one hundred years of lifethanks to the agreement signed with the Government of the City of Buenos Aires for the exploitation of Manuel Belgrano Park, better known as KDT.
In recent months, the parent entity of Argentine tennis was in charge of enhancing a space in the Park and built two hard courts to be used by promising young people and professional players, as well as to carry out activities linked to social sports.
Agustín Calleri, President of the AAT; and Fabián Turnes, Secretary of Sports of the City, participated in the official ceremony within the framework of a training day organized by the AAT Development team led by Franco Squillari.
The first to step on them were Ezequiel Monferrer (21 years old), Juan Ignacio Zamora (20), Simón Giambastiani (Sub 14), Santiago Chacur (Sub 12) and Matilda Werle (Sub 12), accompanied by coaches from the Development team and Squillari himself.
The Argentine Tennis Association continues to work on the construction, for the first time in its history, of a National Tennis Center with its own courts to hold training camps, official competitions and training days, among other activities.
In the Manuel Belgrano Park, the Association will also begin to work on the adaptation of two clay courts, while exploring with the City Government the possibility of expanding its project to another space.
