Ferdinand: “I got the coaching title when my wife passed away and that ruined the whole path for me”

“Did you never think about being a coach?” the Spanish-Brazilian asked him. “Before. I wanted to be a coach and I was on the path, but almost I got my coaching degree when my wife passed away. and that ruined the whole journey for me. She left 3 children behind, so I had to leave him. Because being a coach means being 100% focused on that and I couldn’t do both things at the same time,” the Londoner responded.
Rebecca Ellison died on May 2, 2015 at the age of 34 after losing a tough battle against breast cancer. Fortunately, Rio was soon able to rebuild his life and remarried in September 2019 to British television presenter Kate Wright, with whom he has two other children in common.
