Medvedev and Basilashvili will play for the title in Almaty

Daniil Medvedev and Nikoloz Basilashvili will meet this Sunday in the final of the ATP 250 tournament in Almaty (Kazakhstan), played on hard court.

The Russian, number five in the world, entered the last round of the tournament after the withdrawal of local Alexander Bublikwho could only hold out the first set, which was 6-3 for the Russian, in just over 20 minutes.

In the other semifinal, Basilashvili, 34, confirmed himself as the big surprise of the championship, after defeating the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas this Saturdaynumber 39 in the ATP ranking and seventh seed in the tournament, 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-3.
