Deportivo Pasto thrashed 4-0 Deportivo Pereira for date 18 of the Colombian League Final Tournament, in a match marked by the difficult situation that the ‘matecaña’ team is going through, which faced the commitment with a squad full of youth players in the absence of several players from the professional team, who have not acted due to the salary debts that the club maintains.

After the match, the Uruguayan striker Facundo Bonefigure of the Nariño team, sent a message of support and recognition to the young footballers of Pereira, highlighting their effort and bravery in defending the club’s colors in the midst of difficulties.

I wanted to congratulate the boys from Pereira because it was the youngsters’ turn to play.“I want to give them our support because they did very well, even though they are their first games, and I hope many of those who are here today can have a great career,” said Boné.

Deportivo Pereira is going through a complex situation due to late payments of several months of salary, which led the most experienced footballers to decide not to appear in the last matches of the tournament. Given this, the club’s directors had to turn to players from the lower divisions to comply with the schedule.

Despite the extensive defeat in Pasto, Pereira’s youth showed dedication and commitment on the fieldwhile they wait for a quick solution to the institutional crisis that the club is experiencing.

With this victory, Deportivo Pasto reached 16 points, while Pereira was left with 18 points, both without options to qualify for home runs championship semi-finals.
