The sixth date will be the second with a short race of 2025. The Dutch sweeps the area that premiered in 2021 and that already added 19 editions.

Add show to a grand prize weekend was the main argument that Formula 1 wielded when it decided to incorporate Sprint races in 2021. From the outset, the teams looked at some suspicion of adding more kilometers of competition for the extra wear of the engines and the risk of suffering an accident that could complicate the participation in the long contest of Sunday. In that 2021 three sprint were played: Great Britain, Italy and San Pablo. The evaluation of the 2021 season by the World Cup Popes was positive and decided to continue with the model.

In 2022 the recipe of three sprint was repeated and by 2023 the quantity was doubled, number that remains in the current calendar. In the route, modifications were made in the system and in the award he granted. In 2021 a single classification was carried out that ordered the short race and the result of the competition ordered Sunday’s grid. Points were granted for the first three: 3, 2 and 1. In the following season the first modifications arrived: the first eight on a scale of 8 to 1 and the classification of Friday ordered the grid of the two races.

In 2023 the six major sprint prizes were reached and the weekend system was modified. A classification for the SPRONT was included that replaced the practice of Saturdays. Thus, the Friday’s qualy ordered Sunday’s race and Saturday was like a Sprint Shotout and Sprint bubble. By 2024 another change arrived: the classification for the Sprint began to be held on Fridays and that of the main race became Saturdays, after the short competition. That system is the one that follows in this 2025.

This weekend, during the Miami GP, sixth date of the 76th season of the World Cup, the second Sprint of the year and 20th in the history of the category will be held. The novel item has a clear dominator: Max Verstappen. The Dutch won 11 Sprint of the 19 played! The Dutch won the first to be played in Silverstone, in 2021. The Tetracampeón Success list in Sprint is completed as follows: Emilia-Romagna 2022, Austria 2022, Austria 2023, Belgium 2023, United States 2023, San Pablo 2023, China 2024, Miami 2024, Austria 2024 and the United States 2024.

Very far in the record is Valtteri Bottas with two (Italy and San Pablo, both in 2021) and Oscar Piastri, also with two (Qatar 2023 and 2024). With one there are: George Russell (San Pablo 2022), Czech Pérez (Azerbaiyan 2023), Lando Norris (San Pablo 2024) and Lewis Hamilton, winner of China Sprint played this year, his first great joy, and unique for now, since Ferrari arrived.

MotoGP, the major category of the Motorcycling World Cup, was captivated by the Sprint system, but with a fact: all calendar races have short competition. From F1 at some point a voice rose that slid the idea of imitating both wheels and adding short competitions every Saturday of the year. The idea was cut from rennet by the teams.
