The Royal Spanish Rugby Federation convenes an assembly with the aim of professionalizing rugby

The Royal Spanish Rugby Federation (RFER) has called a Ordinary General Assembly for next April with the aim of giving “a decisive step towards professionalization of the management and the optimization of organizational processes”.

As reported by the RFER in a statement, “this measure arises from close institutional dialogue and of the continuous collaboration with the National Association of Rugby Clubs (ANCR)”.

“The strategic alliance with the ANCR It is essential to respond to the historical demands of national rugby, placing the club needs in the center of the decision making”, explains the note.

At that meeting they will address national competition formats and the regulations that regulate them, the demands and mandatory requirements to compete in the state category and the first version of the General Calendar of Activities.

The RFER and the ANCR They are working together to create the new Audiovisual Regulations, reveals the first.

“The approval of this regulation is also scheduled for the month of April, with the purpose that the clubs know first-hand the broadcast conditions and they can address them with the maximum guarantees and in the better conditions looking ahead to next season,” he announces.

This decision complies with what was agreed in the Extraordinary General Assembly on July 29, 2025, where it was approved to move towards this governance model. This prevents the substantial modifications to the competitions decided at the end of the course, at the end of June or beginning of July, which made it difficult operational planning and financial of the entities.
