F1: Lewis Hamilton, if you doubt, is very sincere …

In the previous BARÉIN GP, the heptacampeon was consulted about whether their fans can expect something magical for the weekend with their Ferrari. The answer, very clear.
With a different look, with its hair in the wind. No tartas tartas or a horse tail, loose. This is how Lewis Hamilton appeared at the Sakhir Autodrome for press service in the start of the Baréin GP start, Fourth date of the Formula 1 season. And this one was also to answer when a journalist asked him if he could send a message to the fans who expect something magical of him.
“No, that simple. Do not expect anything. Simply observe and enjoy. We are working to the fullest. So … it is all I have to say. I have nothing more to add.” Brutal sincerity of heptacampeón, who knows perfectly that his Ferrari is not at the level of being able to fight the McLaren, the fastest cars at the start of the season, or with the Red Bull of Max Verstappen (yes, one single) and that can barely present a battle for Mercedes.
Hamilton’s arrival at the Scuderia shook everything. It was one of the most important passes in the history of F1, after having harvested six crowns with Mercedes. But the performance of the SF-25 in the three disputed appointments (Australia, China and Japan) was far from being the best. The British victory in the Shanghai Sprint lit the illusion of the Tifosi, but it lasted little because in the long race, Charles Leclerc was fifth and Lewis, sixth. Although finally both were disqualified and were left with nothing.
Hamilton pointed to a difference between the two cars. His Ferrari had problems with the height (the wear of the background caused the exclusion of China) and hopes that everything will be resolved for Baréin. “During the first three races, there was a small deficit between both teams in an appearance of the car, so, for my part, something did not work well. I can’t extend much more with the deficit my car has,” he explained.
Ferrari will take the first update package to Sakhir: new floor. “The team boys work incredibly hard to bring improvements, so having that here, on the track where the preseason tests were performed and where we have the most knowledge of the car, it is really positive,” added the seven times world champion.
When talking about the advantage McLaren has, Hamilton was clear: “We are trying to discover how to catch them. Obviously they have a great car, obviously they won the Constructors Championship last year and this began very well. I think we have learned a lot in the last races and I hope that this weekend it is definitely a step forward for us. It is not necessarily about closing the gap, but it does.
