He Asisa Joventut Badalona has a new owner, the business group Confluence Valleyafter Scranton Enterprisesowner of the club since 2018, has closed a sale that will incorporate the point guard Ricky Rubio to the entity’s shareholders, as announced by the parties in separate statements.
The operation, subject to the final approval of the Higher Sports Council (CSD)culminates a stage that began in 2018, when the purchase of the club by Scranton, an investment vehicle for the Grifols family, prevented the liquidation of the historic Badalona club.
Eight years later, the entity has stabilized in the Endesa League and, after completing this recovery by winning the Super Cup title against Barça at the Olímpic, it now opens a new stage with the purchase by a group closely linked to basketball.
Confluence Valleycreated in October 2026 by Zalgiris, owner of the aforementioned Lithuanian club, and the technological development and investment company Tesonet, is a joint international initiative to accelerate sports infrastructure.
It is led by Paulius Motiejunasformer director of Zalgiris and the Euroleague basketball team, who holds the position of executive director of the aforementioned company, which created and develops the operating and business model of the Žalgirio Arena, the facility where Zalgiris Kaunas plays its games.
“The Lithuanian entity has developed a successful management model based on income growth through its diversification, high attendance at its Euroleague matches and the use of its facilities to hold non-sporting events. This strategy finds in the Joventut Badalona Club and the Palau Olímpic a base on which to continue growing,” the statement said.
Tesonet has collaborated in different event management with clubs such as the London Lions and has now expanded in Europe with this operation with Joventut de Badalona.
The platform also integrates its own technological solutions such as Edney AI, an artificial intelligence system designed for the daily operations of professional basketball clubs.
Furthermore, the statement from Scranton, which will continue to be linked as a financial partner, highlights that “the Basketball School, one of the cornerstones of the club and a fundamental part of its social contribution to Badalona, will continue to be one of the pillars of its new stage, just as it has been with Scranton for the last eight years,” the statement says.
