Ecuador defined its roster for the Cycling World Cup in Switzerland

Ecuador already has the cyclists who will represent the team in the next World Cup to be held in Zurich. For the road test, which will take place on September 29, the national team has 5 places, but one of them is yet to be defined.

Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) tops the list, after achieving fourth place in the Vuelta a España and his good performance in the Tour de France. They will join him Jefferson Cepedafrom the same Locomotive team; Alveiro Cepedafrom Caja Rural, and Jonathan Caicedoby Petrolike.

The only cyclist who is in doubt and waiting for a reconfirmation from your team, it is Jhonatan Narváez. The INEOS Grenadiers athlete tested positive for COVID and they hope to have the permission of their team to have him in the World Cup.

Ecuador is ranked 14th in the UCI ranking of nations and therefore can count on 5 cyclists for the World Championship. It is the second South American country in the ranking, after Colombia, which is in 12th place.
