Dangerous Verstappen accident in Zandvoort

Max Verstappen He said goodbye to his home race in a crude and cruel way, with an accident on lap 1, without being able to attempt the comeback operation from the 7th place. That crash against the barrier caused the race to stop on lap 2 with a red flag, giving rise to another stopped start, with Fernando Alonso having recovered 3 positions (15th) and Carlos Sainzgiving up two (19th).

In it last F1 Dutch GP (it will not be on next year’s calendar), Max’s accident left the stands filled with silence, full of fans who had gathered to give strength to their idol.

The Dutch driver started 7th due to the poor performance of his Red Bullstill one step behind the Mercedes, McLaren and FerrariYo. But in Carrara, everyone hoped that Max would do magic to gain positions and at least say goodbye to his fans by giving them a good battle.

However, in the first round, Max said goodbye to Grand Prize and had to abandon.

The four-time champion already saved a difficult situation in the first meters, when hamiltonwhen moving away to avoid Leclerc, forced him to put the wheels on the grass wet from the rain that fell in the minutes before the race.

He stepped on the piano and went against the wall

The track was quite dry, but with still delicate areas. And Max, after defending his position with his partner Liam Lawsonwho replaces Hadjar in this GP, went all out to prepare for the attack on the finish line. I knew that the final corner was one of the wettest areas and if I risked there, I could have options to gain positions on the straight and in the braking of 1. But it was too risky.

Max pushed so hard, trying to accelerate as much as possible to gain the lead at the start, that he did so by stepping on the curb. And the car didn’t hold up. Max spun and hit the inside barrier.

The dangerous thing is that he bounced back onto the track. Luckily, not too much, since the cars in front of him were able to pass by him at full acceleration without crashing into Max. That would have been a very dangerous accident.

Hülenberg also avoided a serious crash. He found himself right in front of Bortoleto spinning in the final corner of Zandvoort and was able to avoid him with golden reflexes.
