Croatia beat the Faroe Islands and qualified for the 2026 World Cup

Croatia won 3-1 Faroe Islands on the penultimate date of group L of the UEFA Qualifiers and qualified for the 2026 World Cupwhere he will try to repeat his great performance from Qatar 2022, when he was third.

The Croatian team suffered at the beginning, because the island team surprised and took the lead with a goal from Géza Dávid Turi in the 16th minute. However, the reaction was quick, thanks to Josko Gvardiol, who made it 1-1.

In the second stage, Petar Musa scored the goal that put qualification on track and shortly after Nikola Vlasic scored 3-1.

Faroe Islands, despite the elimination, had the best campaign in its history in the World Cup Qualifiers. In this group, the Czech Republic finished second and will compete in the playoffs.

Croatia will play its seventh World Cup. Since his debut in France 1998, he was only absent in South Africa 2010. He played in the semifinals three times and in Russia 2018 he was runner-up.
