Cristian Rodríguez signs two years with Bahrain Victorious

The Spanish climber Cristian Rodríguezbelonging to the team XDS Astanawill join the Bahrain Victorious starting in 2027 with a two-year contract, according to his future team.

Cristian Rodríguez31, has more than a decade of experience in the professional peloton and has a solid track record in mountain stage races and Grand Tours. He currently competes in the Vuelta a España with the XDS Astana team, but before that he played for TotalEnergies and Caja Rural-Seguros RGA and for Team Arkéa-Samsic.

His experience in Grand Tours includes multiple participations in the Tour of Spain, the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italiain addition to having always been among the top positions in prestigious stage races throughout Europe.

His 2026 campaign has reaffirmed his worth as a high-level mountain specialist. Rodriguez he finished second overall in the Tour of Oman and subsequently finished eighth overall in the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

Cristian Rodríguez’s career includes outright victories at the 2021 Tour of Rwanda, where he also won a stage, and the 2021 Tour de la Mirabelle. Additionally, he was runner-up at the 2022 Ruta del Sol and enjoyed a strong 2025 season, winning the Mercan’Tour Classic and finishing second at the Andorra Morabanc Classic before reaching 20th place in the Tour de France overall standings.

He has spent many years competing at WorldTour level and has consistently shown that he can perform in the high mountains, both when supporting a general leader and when he has the opportunity to compete on his own,” said Rod Ellingworth, performance director of Bahrain Victorious.

After signing to join the Bahraini team for next season, Christian He said he was “very motivated for this new stage.”

“For me, being part of a team means being willing to do whatever it takes. I want to help the best riders on the team in any way I can, especially in the mountains, and use my experience to support them in the biggest races. At the same time, when opportunities come my way, I will be prepared to take advantage of them,” he confessed.
