Indianapolis – Caitlin Clarkstar of the Indiana Feverwas discarded for the rest of the 2025 WNBA season due to an injury, he announced Thursday on social networks.

Caitlin Clarkthe first general selection of the 2024 Draft, had only played 13 games this season and had not appeared since July 15, when he suffered an injury to the right groin at the last minute of the FEVER victory over the Connecticut Sun.

“I hoped to share a better update, but I will not play this season again,” Clark published Thursday night. “I spent hours in the gym every day with the sole objective of playing again; disappointed is not enough to describe how I feel.”

Before that injury, Clark wasted time this season due to lesions in the left quadriceps and groin. AM850 also confirmed that he suffered a bone contusion on the left ankle during a training in August. “I want to thank everyone who supported me throughout the uncertainty,” Clark published. “This has been incredibly frustrating, but even in the bad, there is something good. The way the fans continued to support me and the fers brought me a lot of joy and an important perspective. I am very proud of how this team has been strengthened through adversity this year. Now it is time to close the season and ensure our place in the playoffs.”

Indiana’s coach Stephanie White said Thursday that the team wanted to take advantage of her recent trip to the west coast to evaluate Clark’s future and planned “sitting after today’s training and expecting to have an address soon.”

White had said that the team expected Clark to return to the end of the regular season, but could not completely reinstate the training before the last game of the regular season of the Faver on Tuesday, and with the uncertainty about the classification of the team for the playoffs.

Clark toured the court in 5 years against 0 at the beginning of this week, but has not done a lot of contact work, White said Thursday. From the beginning, the Faver have insisted that they will prioritize Clark’s long -term well -being.

The base averaged 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds in 2025, without playing more than five consecutive games during the summer.

Clark had never lost a party in his university career or in his first year in the WNBA. However, her second season was marked by her absence, since she could not fully continue with a stellar rookie campaign that led her to be named a member of the first WNBA team, to be fourth in the vote to the MVP and catalyze a tremendous growth in the popularity of the league.

The Faver have lost five players for injury this season: Clark, their companions Bases Aari McDonald (Pie), Sydney Colson (knee) and Sophie Cunningham (knee), in addition to the forward Chloe Bibby (knee), who was discarded on Thursday.

Indiana continues to compete with Golden State, Seattle and Los Angeles for one of the three remaining positions for the playoffs.
