‘Palo’ to Alexis Sánchez: “We cannot change everything just to make the famous player play”

Very harsh words from the coach of the CF Montreal, Philippe Eullaffroytoward Alexis Sanchez37, after the penalty shootout loss in the Canadian Championship final against the Forge FC.

The ex of Barça37 years old, has not had any role in this stage of his football life nor in that match. In fact, the referee blew the final whistle just before he could jump onto the grass and that sparked an argument with his coach.

Eullaffroy explained in a press conference that “if the question is regarding AlexisI tried to be creative and see how I could get it in. Not just to get him in, but so he could make a difference. With 10 against 11 -the Colombian Brayan Vera was sent off for a double yellow – it was a little more difficult.

He added that “You can’t completely unbalance the team just to please someone or to say ‘let’s take out the star player.'”

He insisted that “I thought it was best to keep Prince Owusu until the end because I still had energy. We can’t change everything just to have fun and make the famous player play. “It’s my responsibility.”
