Add and continue: Héctor Álvarez wins the Paris-Tours Espoirs

It has been the week of the year for Hector Alvarez. Without any type of doubt. After a season in which he has taken steps forward and established himself in the senior team, the sweetest moments have come in the last dates of the calendar. After the European under-23 which he starred in, winning the road and time trial events, this Sunday he achieved his third win in the Paris-Tours Espoirs.

The Alicante runner already seems to be ready to take another step in his career and, despite only having 19 years old (will turn 20 on December 12)is ready to take the final leap to the WorldTour.

Premiere

dress European champion like a paintbrush, he lived up to the jersey with a victory that reaffirms his words this week in the interview he gave in ‘El Partidazo de Cope’. “I consider myself a ‘classicómaniac’”, he assured.

In this prestigious and recognized classic in the international peloton, he won with authority, crossing the finish line alone ahead of the Belgian Mathias De Keersmaekerfrom the Lotto Intermarché development team, and from the French Hans Rullierfrom Mayenne-Monbana-Rapido.

A very complete year

This season he has already been seen little with the Lidl-Trek structure development team, participating in only two races (apart from this last one) and achieving good results in Paris-Roubaix (5th) and Liège-Bastogne-Liège (8th).

With the elite team, in addition, he finished 2nd in the Calvià Trophy behind Antonio Morgado, 7th in the Vuelta a la Región de Murcia, third in a stage of the Tour of Austria and won the youth classification in the Baloise Belgium Tour and in the ZLM Tour.

The finishing touch has been World Cup -3rd in the time trial and 2nd in the under-23 road race- and the great Europeancontinental champion in both the time trial and the online event. Ladies and gentlemen, Héctor Álvarez is a reality.
