Magnus Bak, sprint gravel world champion

The danish Magnus Bak (PAS Racing) was proclaimed this Sunday gravel world champion in Nannup (Australia), after a 143.7 kilometer race that was decided in a final sprint of four runners.

Bak signed a goal time of 4h09:05 in a career in which he dedicated part of his efforts to supporting the leader of his team, Mads Würtz Schmidtwho also arrived with options to those final meters in which the test was decided and in which he was the fastest ahead of his compatriot and the Belgian Vermeersch Florianwho took the silver, and the British Swift Connorbronze.

The 30-year-old Danish champion completes with this victory at the Nannup World Championships a good season in which he won the Gravel Grit ‘n Grindin Halmstad (Sweden) and was third in Megre Gravel, in Lithuania, and in Gravel Weekend, in Latvia, corresponding to the UCI World Series.

He also finished fourth in Sea Otter and sixth in The Traka 200, in Girona, two tests in which he competed against the best gravel specialists.
