4-0: Messi continues partying

Just four days after his emotional farewell to the Argentine national team, Lionel Messi gave another football festival with the Inter Miami by scoring a double, like Luis Suárez, in the resounding 4-0 victory endorsed by D.C. United at NU Stadium. Messi has 23 goals so far in the MLS and is increasingly the top scorer in the league. Suárez was also the protagonist by scoring the two goals that put the duel downhill in the first half.

After his massive farewell to the Argentine national team, on October 6 in Buenos Aires in the friendly against Benin, Messi started in Cristian González’s eleven to face DC United.

In this FIFA day extended to three weeks, Messi managed to play all of Inter Miami’s matches and traveled to Argentina only for the historic match last Tuesday, in which he scored a goal and gave two assists. If international commitment is also considered, Messi has scored in five consecutive games.

He scored the first as soon as the second half began when he finished off an assist from Suárez inside the area. It was at game time when Messi culminated his great night with a marvel. He achieved a spectacular slalom between three defenders to enter the area and strike down the goalkeeper with a cross shot that unleashed the euphoria of the NU Stadium audience.

He exchanged a hug with his teammates, including Luis Suárez who scored his two goals in the first half by taking advantage of two assists from Germán Berterame. Inter Miami is second in the East with 49 points, behind Nashville that started the day with 60.
