Ben Sulayem, boss of the FIA: “Alonso has promised me that he will stay”

The Asturian explained at the press conference for the Spanish GP this weekend that a lot depended on the new regulations and the adaptation for 2027. These cars are no fun because they rely too much on electric battery management.. Next year the combustion engine will gain ground over the electric one, but the question is will it be enough to convince the Spaniard?

After these words from Sulayem, as it could not be otherwise, Fernando Alonso was asked whether or not this promise could be confirmed. The Asturian did not take anything for granted but did say that he is in constant contact with the head of the FIA.

“We have conversations with the FIA, with Domenicali, with F1… we know that now’s product is not optimal. This year’s batteries have given everyone a headache and I think some adjustments can be made.
