Roglic: “Second place is a victory”

The Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe) considered second place overall “a victory” due to the conditions he encountered at the start of Monaco.

“When I started the situation was difficult, but I wanted to race the Vuelta. I went day by day and I couldn’t imagine being second. For me it is a victory. I gave my best, I was improving and I am also happy for Enric Mas because he deserves this victory,” declared the 4-time winner of the Vuelta.

Roglic will now focus on the World Championships in Canada and left it up in the air to return to the Vuelta.

“Maybe I will return to the Vuelta, I have to face the decisions step by step. I just wanted to finish this race, and now I will enjoy the World Championships in Canada. We will see what the future holds for me,” he concluded.
