Peruvian Ignacio Buse wins his second ATP title in Winston Salem

The Peruvian Ignacio Buse, number 36 in the world ranking, was crowned champion of the ATP 250 tournament in Winston Salem this Saturday after winning the final against the British Arthur Fery, 6-3 and 6-2.

Buse celebrated the second title of his career on the ATP circuit after winning the Hamburg tournament in May, with victory in the final against the American Tommy Paul.

Ignacio Buse became the second Peruvian to win a tournament on a fast surface, after Jaime Yzaga, who won five titles, including one in Sydney in 1993.

Buse, who will play the first round of the US Open next week against American Marcos Giron, is the youngest champion in Winston Salem history at 22 years and 5 months.

He needed one hour and twelve minutes to defeat the British Arthur Fery, the third seed in this tournament, in the first meeting between the two on the ATP circuit.

Buse and Fery had already met last year, in the Stockholm qualifications, when the British triumphed in two sets.
