Show and disappointment for Iraola at its premiere

Andoni Iraola already knows what it’s like to direct a game as Liverpool coach, even if it was in a friendly. They did it against Sunderland, winning 4-2 with a relevant role from Szoboszlai and Chiesa.

With Konaté’s departure to Real Madrid he had options to start the season as a starter. “Probably the worst news was Joe’s sudden injury. We were happy because we were doing the entire preseason completing training without losing any player. Unfortunately for us, we immediately lost Joe,” Iraola said after the game.
