On Tuesday, coach Pape Thiaw confirmed that the Al-Ahli goalkeeper will miss his second consecutive match of the tournament, having suffered a knee injury during Senegal’s 3-2 loss to Norway in the group stage.

Mendy returned to his club in Saudi Arabia to undergo further tests. Yehvann Diouf, who also plays in the French first division with Nice, is the other goalkeeper. The 26-year-old has been capped by Senegal twice.
