The NBA Cup final moves from Las Vegas to Indianapolis

The NBA has announced that the final of the NBA Cup of 2026 will be held in the emblematic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. After three consecutive editions in vegasthe league moves the title game to this historic venue on Friday, December 11, 2026, marking a significant change in the tradition of the young tournament.

Hinkle Fieldhousehome of the University of Butlerhas a rich basketball history. It has hosted events such as the National Invitation Tournament, matches of the Indiana Fever of the WNBA and the Indianapolis Olympians of the NBA (1949-53). In addition, it was the site of the State High School Boys’ Basketball Tournament. Indiana for decades and the setting that inspired the acclaimed movie “Hoosiers.”

According to a press release from the league, the NBA seeks to reach the final of the NBA Cup to “distinctive settings that honor the history of the sport.” Kelly Flatowhead of global events at the NBAstated: “Hinkle Fieldhouse offers a special environment to capture the excitement and drama of the Emirates NBA Cup Championship. Playing the final in such an iconic basketball environment like this will further establish it as a signature moment on the NBA calendar.”
