Sofía Calzetti, Kun’s partner, on her withdrawal: “It came from one after another and, sometimes, the body speaks for the things that one cannot speak”

A cardiac arrhythmia led ‘Kun’ Agüero to retire in 2021 when only 33 years old. He had only been at Barça for six months and was just beginning to get minutes. But life had other plans for him and he was forced to literally hang up his boots overnight.

Now, his partner, Sofía Calzetti, wanted to talk about how they lived this very difficult moment from within. He did it on the YouTube channel ‘Stop the world’, where he confessed that, in his opinion, it was his body’s way of saying ‘enough’ after a very demanding career.

“It was from one day to the next and very hard. He came one after anotherof things that happened to him that were not good. He left City suddenly, which was a club he spent 10 years in, he arrived in Barcelona excited to play with Leo and Leo left and suddenly the retirement thing happened to him, which happened from one moment to the next,” the influencer began by explaining.

And he continued: “I think sometimes the heart or the body speaks for the things that one cannot speak. I was a little tired from so many years of so much demand. He started very young, he debuted at 15 years old and things are because they have to be, but it was a very hard moment,” he insisted.

“Suddenly Our whole life was disorganized and we were left adriftbecause it is not something that was organized. Everything changed from one day to the next. I remember that we were with the mother and, beyond everything those days of intensive care, of surgery… everything was ugly, when the doctor told her, the mother cried and cried inconsolably,” he continued.

And it ended: “Luckily he took it pretty well. It’s very strong. I was afraid in the post, what was going to happen to him. He was super preparing for the World Cup, he had started a new physio, diet… he was like in his best moment. There are moments after what happened to him that he had episodes that for me were more panic attacks or something like that.”
